'The Heifer Project in Poland: building a bridge between past and future.' with Erik Hoffner
Ashfield photojournalist Erik Hoffner will show slides of images he took recently while on assignment in Poland covering a story on heritage breeds of farm animals that Heifer Project International is working to save from extinction. Small farms throughout Poland are struggling to get out from under more conventional ways of raising animals, and these forgotten breeds of cows, geese, chickens, pigs, and horses have numerous qualities superior to those of their more commercial counterparts, especially in sustainable farm systems like the ones Erik visited.

Kitchen Medicine-the simple art of medicine making with Tonya Lemos
There is nothing quite as empowering as knowing how to make your own medicines. Herbs are magical but preparing and using them doesn't have
to be mystical. In this presentation you will learn how to make medicines from common herbs and foods in the form of vinegars, honeys, teas, salves, oils and syrups. We will also explore the healing benefits of vinegar and honey.
